MARSHALL TATTOO | TERMS & CONDITIONS
REVIEW MARSHALL TATTOO'S BOOKING TERMS, DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS AND STUDIO POLICIES FOR ALL REALISM TATTOO APPOINTMENTS.
BOOKINGS
All clients are required to read and accept the terms and conditions before booking any appointments or consultations. By paying a deposit, you confirm your agreement to these terms. If you have any questions or do not agree with the terms, please do not proceed with the booking.
DEPOSITS
"A deposit is a partial payment and is non-refundable. Please finalize all decisions regarding design, cost, and availability before booking. By paying a deposit, you agree to the design and time commitment discussed during your consultation with Marshall.
-
Cost: A deposit of $800 (equal to a full session) is required for all bookings.
-
Refunds/Credits: Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances. However, with sufficient notice, deposits remain valid indefinitely and can be:
-
Redeemed for tattoos or shop merchandise.
-
Transferred into a gift voucher (GV), which is transferable to friends or family.
-
If no appointment is made, contact Marshall (info@marshalltattoo.com.au) to redeem your deposit as a GV, which can be used anytime."
TATTOO PERMENANCE
A tattoo is a permanent change to your body and should be considered carefully. You must be of sound mind and choose to proceed under your own free will, free from external pressure or influence (family/friends etc).
If you are aware of any reason that might prevent you from getting a tattoo—such as work, finances, medical issues, or skin conditions—notify us via email (info@marshalltattoo.com.au) or in person with enough notice to avoid financial responsibility for your appointment.
If you feel unsure after seeing the final design, you are not obligated to proceed, but you remain financially responsible for the time booked/design time, including your non-refundable deposit.
AUSTRALIAN GUIDLINES
Clients must be 18 years or older, as required by Australian law. No exceptions, including parental consent.
LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
Laser removal is costly, painful, and does not guarantee complete tattoo removal. It may cause scarring or pigmentation loss. Removal can help lighten tattoos for potential cover-ups but is significantly more expensive than losing a tattoo appointment/deposit.
INK AND SKIN REACTIONS
Healing outcomes vary by skin type. While rare, some clients may experience scarring or reactions to ink, which are unpredictable until healing begins.
Ink colours may appear different in the skin compared to the bottle, depending on skin tone. Clients with concerns about coloured designs should consult Marshall before proceeding.
CONSULTATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS
CONSULTATIONS
Clients must attend consultations prepared with reference images, tattoo location, and size in mind. The process is collaborative, and Marshall’s design will reflect his interpretation of the ideas discussed.
RESCHEDULING
Appointments purchase Marshall’s time, which includes design, setup, and tattooing. Reschedule by contacting Marshall via email (info@marshalltattoo.com.au), or Instagram (@marshall_3rdeye) at least 5 days in advance, or the deposit may be forfeited. Arrive 10 minutes early. Notify Marshall immediately of delays over 15 minutes, or your deposit will be lost. Full charges apply for the booked time, even if late.
DESIGN CHANGES
-
Larger Work (Half Sleeve+): Request design changes at least 7 days before your appointment.
-
Smaller Work (Hand Size or Smaller): Request changes at least 3 days before your appointment.
Changes made on the day incur additional costs. Designs are only viewable at the appointment unless another consultation is booked.
TATTOO DESIGN
Marshall’s artistic style is portrait/realism, and he creates original designs based on client input. He will not copy existing tattoos directly due to copyright concerns but may use them as inspiration. If no agreement is reached on a design, Marshall will recommend another artist. He is not responsible for the spelling or meaning of designs provided by the client—please proofread carefully.
Clients consent to their tattoo and photos being reproduced for promotional use unless they opt out during the consultation.
COVER-UPS
Cover-ups cannot fully conceal old tattoos, and parts of the original may show through over time. Laser removal is often recommended before starting a cover-up. Marshall reserves the right to decline cover-ups that do not align with his standards. Tattoos naturally age and fade, and Marshall is not responsible for retouching years later.
HEALTH, HYGIENE AND AFTERCARE
TATTOO ASSOCIATED RISKS
Getting a tattoo comes with rare but inherent risks, which may include:
-
Infection
-
Scarring
-
Difficulty detecting melanoma
-
Allergic reactions to tattoo pigment, latex gloves, soap, aftercare creams, or bandages
By proceeding with the tattoo, clients acknowledge these risks and assume full responsibility. It is the client’s responsibility to inform Marshall of any allergies or medical conditions that may impact the procedure or healing process.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS
Marshall prioritizes client health and safety. If clients have any of the following conditions, they will be strongly advised against tattooing due to increased risks:
-
Hepatitis A, B, or C
-
HIV/AIDS
-
Pregnancy
-
Undergoing chemotherapy
-
Diabetes
-
Heart conditions
-
Any other condition compromising the immune system
If clients wish to proceed despite these conditions, a doctor’s certificate is required.
Clients will not be tattooed if any of the following skin conditions are present:
-
Sunburn
-
Eczema
-
Rashes
-
Infections
-
Open wounds
-
Dermatitis
-
Ringworm
Notify Marshall at least 72 hours in advance if these conditions apply to avoid forfeiting the deposit. Clients must also disclose if they are taking blood thinners, as this may affect the process and healing.
TATTOO PREPARATION
To ensure hygiene and safety:
-
Arrive clean and sober.
-
Do not use drugs or alcohol before the appointment; failure to comply will result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
-
Avoid waxing, hair removal creams, or numbing products before the appointment. Shaving will be done by Marshall if needed.
-
Eat beforehand to prevent dizziness or fainting.
Wear practical clothing that won’t restrict access to the tattoo area or risk damage from ink or blood. For example, wear shorts for leg tattoos, not jeans.
AFTERCARE
Follow all aftercare instructions provided by Marshall to ensure proper healing. If issues arise, contact Marshall directly before seeking advice elsewhere. Marshall cannot be held responsible for complications caused by client negligence during healing.
Marshall is available to assist with any concerns—please don’t hesitate to reach out.
